What counts as full-time work experience?

Full-time experience is calculated at 40 hours per week. One year of full-time experience equals 2,080 hours. A combination of qualifying part-time experience may be accepted if it totals the required number of hours. Your experience must be documented using the MLS Employment Verification Form. Review your eligibility route to determine whether work experience is required.

What if I graduated more than five years ago?

If you completed your qualifying MLS, MLT, or military laboratory training more than five years ago, you must also document at least one year (2,080 hours) of approved clinical laboratory experience completed within the last five years. Submit the required transcripts and an MLS Employment Verification Form completed by your employer. The Alternate Education Route requires one year (2,080 hours) of approved clinical laboratory experience within the last five years regardless of when you graduated.
