How to Qualify
Applicant shall have graduated with a baccalaureate degree from an institution accredited by a recognized regional or national accreditation agency* (or an equivalent degree from a foreign institution as certified by a foreign transcript evaluation agency approved by AMT)
AND shall hold a certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or equivalent
AND shall have completed a minimum of 6 months of acceptable molecular science experience within the last 5 years.
- The experience must have been in at least one of the seven clinical laboratory disciplines: Molecular biology, genetics/genomics, histocompatibility, infectious disease testing, tumor markers, oncology/hematology, mass spectrometry.
*Program or institution must be accredited by a regional or national accreditation agency approved by the US Department of Education (DOE), the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), or otherwise approved by AMT.

Molecular Science Program
How to Qualify
Applicant shall have graduated with a baccalaureate degree from an institution accredited by a recognized regional or national accreditation agency* (or an equivalent degree from a foreign institution as certified by a foreign transcript evaluation agency approved by AMT)
AND shall have completed a combination of 30 semester hours (45 quarter hours) of biological science, chemistry, mathematics, and/or medical science courses
AND shall have completed a diagnostic molecular science program within the past 5 years.
If completed more than 5 years ago, a minimum of 6 months of acceptable molecular science experience within the last 5 years
- The experience must have been in at least one of the seven clinical laboratory disciplines: Molecular biology, genetics/genomics, histocompatibility, infectious disease testing, tumor markers, oncology/hematology, mass spectrometry.

How to Qualify

AND shall have either:
- Completed a major in biological science or chemistry, OR
- Completed at least 30 semester hours of biological science, chemistry, and/or medical science courses
AND shall have completed a minimum of one year of acceptable molecular science experience within the last 5 years
- The experience must have been in at least one of the seven clinical laboratory disciplines: Molecular biology, genetics/genomics, histocompatibility, infectious disease testing, tumor markers, oncology/hematology, mass spectrometry.

How to Qualify
Applicant shall have graduated with a graduate-level degree in Chemistry, Biology, Immunology, Microbiology, Allied Health, Clinical Laboratory Sciences, or an appropriately related field from an institution accredited by a recognized regional or national accreditation agency* (or an equivalent degree from a foreign institution as certified by a foreign transcript evaluation agency approved by AMT)
AND shall have completed a minimum of 6 months of acceptable molecular science experience within the last 5 years
