Reactivate Your AMT Certification

If your AMT certification has lapsed, you may be able to reactivate it through Certification Continuation Program (CCP) compliance or by retaking the exam. Applications are submitted through your AMT portal.

Reactivation Requirements

To reactivate your certification, you must meet the current eligibility criteria, which may differ from those at the time of your initial certification.

Reactivation applies to certificants whose certification has lapsed for any of the following reasons:

  • Selected for a CCP audit and unable to demonstrate compliance.

Certified on or after January 1, 2006:

  • Failed to document the required CCP points by the end of your three-year cycle.
  • Missed the annual renewal fee by the end of your three-year cycle.

Certified before January 1, 2006:

  • Did not pay the annual fee for three or more years.

Additional requirements by credential:

  • MLS: Proof of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution required.

Reinstate your certification by documenting qualifying CCP activities completed within the past three years.

Reactivate by retaking the original certification exam for your credential.

Note: Reactivation by exam is required if your certification has lapsed for 10 or more years.

Reactivating by CCP

Reinstate your certification by meeting your Certification Continuation Program (CCP) requirements. Follow these steps:

Submit Your Application

  • Complete the Reactivation by CCP Application through your AMT portal.
  • Pay the required fee. The application is valid for six months.

Provide Proof of CCP Points

  • Submit documentation of your required CCP points when requested.
  • All activities must have been completed within the past three years.

Certification Reinstated

  • Once approved, your certification will be reinstated.
  • Access your digital certification card and certificate in your AMT portal.
  • Check your inbox for a Credly email with your updated digital badge.

  • Access your digital certification card and certificate in your AMT portal.
  • Check your inbox for a Credly email with your updated digital badge.
