How Certification Maintenance Works

AMT certification follows a three-year CCP cycle. Each year, you are required to pay your annual renewal fee. During that cycle, you must also earn and record the required CCP points for your credentials. AMT recommends earning and recording approximately one-third of your required points each year to stay on track.

Once your CCP points are recorded and your annual fees are paid, your certification advances into the next three-year CCP cycle.

Annual CCP Audit

AMT conducts an annual random CCP compliance audit to verify the CCP points recorded during a member's previous three-year certification cycle. If selected, you will receive an audit notice by email and USPS mail in the beginning of the year.

Keep copies of your CE documentation throughout your CCP cycle. Documents should show:

(Documentation missing any of the information listed below will be deemed unacceptable)

  • Your complete name
  • The name of the organization/CE provider
  • The title of the course/training
  • The date of completion/activity
  • The amount of credit awarded (e.g., CEU, CME, contact hour, or credit hours)

Note: Dates and handwritten points will only be accepted if verified by a supervisor or CE provider through a signed letter on the organization's official letterhead.

Failure to submit acceptable documentation, or failure to respond to a request for additional documentation, may result in non-compliance and decertification.
